The Student Council at JIS

The Student Council at JIS is an active part of our school community. Students apply to join the council through an application letter and then classes vote on their respective choices. Students from P3 - P6 are members of the Student Council but they do visit and meet with the students in Reception - P2 classes to gain opinions, share ideas and promote their work. The Council meet with JIS representative staff to discuss a range of projects and ideas. The issues raised may come from the students themselves or be brought to the Student Council by members of the JIS staff or school  community.

The Student Council arrange activities for all the student body during the school year. Each Student Council member is responsible to support and promote a specific event and will present in assembly, visit classes or make posters to advertise their event. Some of these events will involve fundraising for a chosen charity  or cause and some may involve support for the school itself.
