Music

Music is taught by a specialist Music teacher at JIS. All students receive 2 Music lessons per week. We actively encourage the development of musical skills in our students. Our Music teacher also arranges extra-curricular music tuition for those students who may be interested in learning a musical instrument.

We encourage the students to develop an enjoyment and appreciation of music as well having fun creating and composing music of their own.  Our students are provided opportunities to develop the skills of notation and to perform through singing and playing instruments.  Our programme is designed to compliment our PYP Programme of Inquiry and where opportunities allow the work is integrated into a common approach.
