Teaching positions at JIS - for August 2019 - Student Support Coordinator

JIS is looking for a passionate, experienced teacher to coordinate our Student Support programme within the school starting for the academic year 2019-10 in August 2019.

JIS has an extremely proud record of integrating a range of students into the school to allow students to flourish and achieve. Our Student Support Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of our inclusion policy and implementation and works closely with all members of our school community to support a range of students and intervention programmes. Student suppport at JIS covers a range of student need; learning support and booster programmes, gifted and talented extension, EAL (English as an Additional Language) and behavioural and emotional support.

The Student Support Coordinator will liaise with a variety of agencies and persons to ensure that students needs are best met through appropriate, efficient and developmental interventions.  The role will require knowledge of diagnostic strategies and programs, teaching and learning approaches that build on advice and diagnosis given, and strong  interpersonal skills to work with members of the school community. There is a strong inclusion policy and systemic practices in place within the school which involve student support within classrooms at individual and group level as well as 'pull-out' programmes with specialist tuition where necessary. The school has strong links with a range of educational experts in the fields of counselling, occupational therapy (O.T.), optometry, audiology and   educational psychology.  Our current Student Support Coordinator has created an excellent team of support agencies for our students.c

General staff applications - class teacher recruitment for August 2019 now under way

Applicants for teaching positions at JIS must be creative, experienced teachers, committed to working in a highly collaborative, team, inquiry-based environment.  Recriotment processes for 2019 are now in place and interested candidates are encouraged to contact the school as soon as possible. Applications ahould be receieved by the school by 28th November 2018. Qualifications and experience as an I.B., PYP teacher would be a distinct advantage. Supply teaching opportunities at JIS - ongoing applications

Applications are welcomed for supply teaching positions from August 2017 and beyond

During the school year there are times when teaching staff are involved in training workshops or may be on sick leave. JIS would welcome interest from suitably qualified teachers to act as supply teachers during these periods. All teaching staff need to be registered teachers with the Hong Kong Education Bureau. Mr. Walton will contact interested teachers for a social interview and introduction meeting.
